The KRV plans to upgrade the lives of everyday Jamaicans by upgrading 500 restaurants nationwide at a cost of US $50k each, with a focus on modernizing the design and decor to reflect a Jamaican atmosphere and provide a world class experience and service to customers. The plan will divide the restaurants in Nine major themes which will be designed by local artists, architects, and interior decorators, to have a modern touch but with a Jamaican twist and Yaad feel.
Themes:
Fine dining: Subcategories include Steakhouse and Seafood Restaurant. The design for this theme would be a modern and upscale Jamaican restaurant incorporating rich, warm colors and elegant, modern furniture with accents of Jamaican culture such as Jamaican art, carvings, and patterns. The addition of dim lighting with candles to create a romantic ambiance, and the use of fresh flowers and greenery as centerpieces. Water features such as fountains or waterfalls will be added for a calming ambiance. Tables will have a touch of luxury by using gold-plated utensils and crystal glassware. All restaurants will have modern touchless bathroom fixtures and free Wi-Fi Access. The menus will be of full picture menus and the servers will wear a formal uniform.
Casual dining: Subcategories include Sports Bar and Family Restaurant. The design for this theme would be a laid-back and family-friendly restaurant decorated with bright and vibrant colors such as blues, greens, and yellows. Natural materials such as bamboo furniture and Jamaican elements such as murals of Jamaican scenery and reggae music along with tropical plants to give it a relaxed island feel. They will have multiple large-screen displays with cable sports and entertainment channels along with free WI-FI access for all customers. The menus will be full picture menus and the servers will wear a casual uniform.
